New Cell Phone Policy
Posted 8/14/19

As a technologically innovative school, Healdsburg High strives to teach and promote appropriate digital citizenship. We are a one-to-one school; all students have a school issued Chromebook. Our school staff has overwhelmingly agreed that a consistent school-wide policy to ban cell phone use during class will help students stay more present and engaged in their learning. The intent is to support them in their academic success, removing a major temptation and distraction, and promoting face to face social interaction and connection. Therefore, HHS classrooms are now cell-phone free zones. Below is our cell phone policy that is now in our HHS Student Handbook. The use of cellphones, electronic devices (including smart watches), and earbuds (other than HHS issued) are strictly prohibited at all times during instructional hours.
