HUSD Selects New HHS Assistant Principal

Mr. Weller comes to us from the Tamalpais Union High School District, where he served as a teacher and instructional coach. In this role, he led his teaching colleagues in efforts to transform classroom teaching practices to improve student learning. He also facilitated policy and practice changes around equitable teaching practices, Multi- Tiered Systems of Support and Restorative Justice. He holds two Bachelor’s degrees, from Multnomah University and Concordia University in Irvine as well as a Masters in Educational Leadership from Cal State East Bay.  

 

Mr. Weller began his teaching career in 1999. Over the course of his classroom career, he has primarily served as an English teacher, instructing classes in everything from GED prep to AP Literature, but has also taught courses in technology, social studies and music. The majority of his teaching career was spent at Windsor High School, Redwood High School and most recently, Archie Williams High in Marin. 


In all of his roles, Mr. Weller has been seen as a natural leader and advocate for all students. Furthermore,  he is known as an innovative, engaging teacher with a strong passion and dedication for equity. He is an accomplished musician and has dedicated many of his summers volunteering for numerous international non-profits in places like France, Ecuador and Peru.

 

We are very excited to have such a strong, creative and passionate educator as the new Assistant Principal for HHS. Mr. Weller began his work at HHS last week and is looking forward to welcoming our students back to school on August 17th.
